Hi There,

I have just brought Watchdog - O - Matic to resolve a problem I have running a piece of Ham radio software on my PC running XP Pro. The software is called easypal is a DRM programme that receives & stores or retransmits pictures jpgs etc. Its used as a remote repeater (pc connect to ham radio on top of a very high location) allowing ham radio operators to swap pictures over a big area via the repeater.

The programme has a habit of freezing or shutting down for no reason after a few hours or days and was a pain to keep restarting it as there is no internet on the site.

Watchdog looked perfect & loads with windows & starts easypal as its only process. But 3 times this week the easypal programme has frozen & watchdog has not noticed in the info window. Windows is still running as the clock is correct & watchdog is running as i can click the process or close it down.

Help please. Regards Tony in sunny Clacton Essex

Hello.

When the program freezes, does it show as "not responding" in the task manager? It is possible that only a part of the program freezes and Watchdog - O - Matic is unable to detect that part.

An option could be to auto restart the program every x hours or days.

Hope this helps.

yep it does show "not responding" in the task manager, but the programme does not restart it. I do restart the programme with a task each night, but the reason for buying watchdog was to keep it running.

Help please
